Virtual AGM

In view of the current ongoing restrictions on public meetings arising from Covid-19, the Committee has decided that the 2020 AGM will be held using the video-conferencing service, Zoom.

It will take place on Monday 19th October at 1900, and anyone wishing to take part will need to register no later than Sunday 11th October by emailing the Secretary at alrug150@gmail.com. Links to the meeting will then be provided to those who have registered.

The Committee didn’t take this decision lightly but, in the circumstances, considered it to be the best way of meeting our obligations under the Constitution whilst keeping our members safe. The meeting will be open for members to join and participate, and full details about how to do so will be set out in the upcoming newsletter. Anyone wishing to take part will need a laptop/ tablet/ smartphone with a camera and microphone. For those who haven’t used Zoom previously, we are happy to run a test session in advance of the meeting. We will also record the meeting so it will be available shortly afterwards for all to view. We realise some members will not be able to access this meeting, and we apologise for that, but hope you will understand why we have decided to do this.

Our proposed guest speaker for the 2020 AGM – Sir Peter Hendy – has agreed to visit the Group at some time in 2021 and, once a date has been agreed, the membership will be informed.
